About Bapco Energies 8 Hours of Bahrain
The Bapco Energies 8 Hours of Bahrain is a round of the FIA World Endurance Championship, the series that includes the Le Mans 24 Hours. Bahrain International Circuit has hosted the WEC since 2012, usually as the final round of the season. Hypercars and GT cars share the track, racing from afternoon into darkness under the circuit's floodlights.
For spectators it is a relaxed alternative to Formula 1 weekend. Crowds are smaller, access around the circuit is easier and the eight hour race allows time to watch from several grandstands. The final round often settles championship titles, which adds tension late in the race.
The 2026 race, set for 6 and 7 November, was cancelled in July 2026 by Le Mans Endurance Management because of the situation in the Middle East. Ticket and hospitality holders were refunded automatically. Barcelona and Monza took the last two places on the 2026 calendar instead.
