About Bear Grylls Adventure Zone

The Adventure Zone was created by the Bear Grylls Survival Academy (BGSA) with Hawar Resort by Mantis, the resort on Hawar Island that opened in early 2025. The zone launched in June 2025 and sits within the resort grounds, surrounded by the protected Hawar wildlife area.

Children aged 6 to 12 take part in one-hour, instructor-led group sessions. Activities include raft and shelter building, fire lighting, knot tying and rope-based problem solving, with each challenge meant to teach them to work with nature. Adults get versions of the same outdoor skills, designed around teamwork, communication and quick decisions. These suit families, friends and company groups staying at or visiting the resort.

The zone is part of a wider kids' offer at the resort, which also has a kids' water park, an adventure park and a kids and teens club. Reaching it means taking the resort boat from Durrat Al Bahrain. Sessions are booked through the resort, so check whether they are open to day visitors on your date.
