His Majesty the King's Cup Festival

About His Majesty the King's Cup Festival

His Majesty the King's Cup Festival is the biggest fixture of the Bahrain racing year, staged by the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC) at its track in Riffa. The 2027 festival runs over two days, 4 and 5 March, with the King's Cup itself on Friday 5 March.

The King's Cup holds International Group 3 status. The festival also closes the Bahrain Turf Series, whose final round is on 4 March. This season the series has 14 races, with a new mile division added to the sprint and middle-distance races, and it has drawn international runners shipped in for the winter.

The 2026 to 27 season is REHC's 50th anniversary, with 30 meetings between 30 October 2026 and 16 April 2027, including the Group 1 Bahrain International Trophy in November and the Crown Prince's Cup in January. The festival suits racing fans, families and visitors looking for a major sporting day out in the south of Bahrain.
